Favorite K-Pop Songs Released in Fall 2017

8 of My Favorite Descendants of the Sun Moments
This post is four months overdue as it would be with constant procrastination coupled with a “busy” schedule. But hey, the intent is still there, so who cares, right? In light of the news of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s marriage, here’s a Descendants of the Sun post to reminisce about the drama that was all the rage in 2015.
As I’m sure many fans can relate, I never knew I could want to date a soldier so bad until I took the time to watch this drama that I had been putting off for months. I finally sat down after the hype had worn off, and my good friends pestering me to watch it came to a halt. I’ve had nothing but positive things to say about this drama since then.
I can go on forever about all the moments that made me enjoy it so much, and so I decided to make a list of some of my favorite Descendants of the Sun moments.

Summer is coming to a quick end, highlighted by the sounds of the screaming, kicking children in school courtyards across the nation as they’re dragged by their hair into the dark abyss that is early morning wake-ups, and endless assignments until next year. On a brighter note, this summer marks my first official summer of really immersing myself into the K-pop culture and fandom.

8 Things I Appreciate About Goblin: The Lonely and Great God
This post was ten episodes shy of being titled “Goblin, My Unpopular Opinion”, as when I watched the first few episodes of Goblin: The Lonely and Great God, it was pretty slow to me and I didn’t understand the hype. I found the female lead annoying, and somehow didn’t see the amazing charm of the male actors.
Thankfully I continued as I thought, this had to be one hell of a drama for it to do better than the 2016 hit drama that swept drama land not too long ago, Descendants of the Sun. And after I watched the Goblin special and realized that this masterpiece was in fact created by Kim Eun Sook, the same woman that created Descendants of the Sun, I thought daebak! That makes so much sense as both dramas were legendary in their own respect.
There were many things that crossed my mind as I watched Goblin and took in the amazing effort and detail put in by the cast and crew, and I’m going to tell you exactly why this drama took me by surprise.

Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People—Things I Loved
I’ll be real, other than a promising plot one of the things that got me to watch Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People was how charismatic and cool I thought the main lead looked. And charismatic and cool he was. When I began watching Rebel I wasn’t really looking for a love story, but more of a story in which the underdog triumphs, and that I got.
Yoon Gyun Sang, along with the other impeccable actors of this drama kept me glued to the screen episode to episode.
Now let me let you in on all the things I could not get enough of in this drama, other than the charming leads half smirk that did all sorts of things to my heart.

Age of Youth Girls—Why I Grew Attached
Age of Youth, or Hello my Twenties. Whatever you refer to it as, each girl added her own flavor to the big bubbling melting pot of a drama that I adore with every fiber.
It’s rare for me to take such a liking to characters on a TV show, but the Age of Youth girls managed to rein me in, making me fall into a never-ending hole that is my love for them.

The Reply Series: A Detailed Opinion
In the summer of 2012 I was but a tiny inkling on this planet, preparing for my sophomore year of high school, completely unaware of the magic of the K-Drama world. As I ate cold cut sandwiches for lunch and tried to decide if my frenemy at the time would yield to my next move, I wasn’t even aware that something bigger, something beyond me was taking place.
The Reply Series took the world by storm in the summer of 2012, starting with Reply 1997, soon being followed by Reply 1994, and Reply 1988 after its success. I watched each season in order of its release, naturally beginning with 1997 during my Freshman year of college in 2015. They lived up to the hype, so much so making me wonder how I even lived in a Reply-free-world before my discovery upon this gold mine of dramas.
I’m here to get deep into what I couldn’t get enough of, what made me cringe, what made my heart jump, and yes, the issues I had with each individual season, because even Picasso was once criticized.
